Packs Tier List

This packs tier list ranks letter pack purchases in Collect The Alphabet by stage value. Higher rarity is not automatically higher tier on this page—fit beats flash. A Common pack that seats three new letters outranks a Mythic open that duplicates your twentieth Epic. For mechanic detail use letter packs and letter rarities; for spend rivals see upgrades tier list.

How to use the list

  1. Identify your stage with the alphabet checklist (roughly: many empties = early; mostly dupes on low tiers = mid; few stubborn gaps = late).
  2. Buy from the recommended band for that stage.
  3. After each batch, place letters, sell duplicates, and consider an upgrade before the next band climb.

Early-game pack tiers

S — Common letter packs

Best cash-to-placement ratio while the board is empty. Spam responsibly: still leave money for income upgrades.

A — Uncommon letter packs

Strong bridge when Commons repeat but many mid letters remain missing.

B — Rare packs

Only if a chunk of cash sits unused after income buys and Uncommons stall.

C–D — Epic / Legendary / Mythic

Too expensive for fragile early income. Park them until early-game tier list goals are done.

Mid-game pack tiers

S — Rare and well-timed Uncommon

Rare becomes the workhorse; Uncommon remains useful for leftover easy gaps.

A — Epic packs

Promote to A when luck upgrades are online and Rare duplicate rate climbs. See luck notes on upgrades.

B — Legendary

Situational hunts for known missing letters after events or when cash is deep.

C — Mythic

Still mostly premature unless free from codes, group reward spillover, or weekly events.

B — Symbol packs (diamonds)

Rise in value once duplicate selling is habitual. Not a replacement for money packs while A–Z gaps remain wide—read diamonds and selling.

Late-game pack tiers

S — Mythic and Legendary letter packs

Best tools for final alphabet holdouts when luck and income can fund dry streaks.

A — Epic packs and Symbol packs

Fill secondary gaps and diamond-track content without only gambling Mythic.

B — Rare packs

Cleanup only; low value if your checklist is all late rarities.

C–D — Common / Uncommon

Mostly diamond printers via duplicates. Fine for sell farming, poor for discovery.

Event and free pack overrides

Weekly events and free high-tier packs temporarily jump to S regardless of stage—after you place backlog letters. Opening a free Mythic into an inventory already holding unplaced Commons is still a process fail. Claim group rewards the same way.

Word of the Day progress can reduce how many paid packs you need that session; check it before emptying the wallet.

Anti-patterns (auto D)

  • Mythic-only identity before half the alphabet is placed.
  • Never selling duplicates, then calling Symbol packs “too expensive.”
  • Buying packs during a huge unplaced backlog.
  • Ignoring board income until the shop feels broken.

Buy packs that match the letters you still lack. The shop will always show a shinier tier; this list exists so you only climb when your board and upgrades say you are ready.

Quick buy rules

  • If the alphabet checklist shows many empty easy slots, stay on Common and Uncommon until placement catches up.
  • If you already own most low-rarity letters, luck upgrades beat another Common dump — see upgrades tier list.
  • Free Mythic from codes or weekly gifts is always worth opening after you clear the placement backlog, never before.
  • Symbol packs are a diamond decision, not a money-pack substitute; read symbol packs before you empty the diamond wallet on curiosity.

Keep this packs list next to letter packs mechanics so rankings and purchase rules stay aligned after Cosmic Collection tweaks prices.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which pack is best at the start?

Common letter packs are S-tier early because they fill empty board slots fastest per coin.

When should I buy Mythic packs?

Late game, or whenever free Mythic rewards arrive—ideally after luck and income can handle dry streaks.

Are Symbol packs on this list?

Yes as a diamond-track option that rises mid to late once you sell duplicates consistently.

Do events change pack rankings?

Event and free high-tier packs temporarily act like S-tier after you clear placement backlog.

Where do I learn pack mechanics?

See the letter packs guide under Letters for purchase framework and upgrade pairing.
