Collect The Alphabet Keep or Sell Letters
Which copies stay on the board, which become diamonds, and what never to vendor.
Every extra letter in Collect The Alphabet is either a worker or fuel. Workers sit on the board and print money per second. Fuel is a duplicate you sell for diamonds toward Symbol packs. New Cosmic Collection players mix those roles up, vendor a last copy, and then wonder why income and Word of the Day both feel worse. This page is the keep-versus-sell rulebook for place 127103413498148. Use it with Diamonds and Selling, Board Income, and the Alphabet Checklist.
The one-sentence rule
Never sell the last copy of a letter you still need mounted or might need for Word of the Day. Sell copies beyond that. If you only own one, it is not a spare.
What “keep” means
Keep means:
- The glyph is mounted on the board (or you are about to mount it).
- You hold at least one inventory copy if Cosmic Collection’s current Word of the Day rules consume or require letters from inventory rather than only from the board — when in doubt, keep a spare of scarce letters until you understand today’s daily word.
- You are not deleting coverage just because the inventory UI looks messy.
A mounted Common that fills a hole beats an unmounted Mythic sitting in a backpack. Rarity is for pulling missing letters. Placement is for income. Read Letter Rarities so Mythic does not hypnotize you into selling Commons that still occupy unique slots.
What “sell” means
Sell means converting a true duplicate into diamonds. Diamonds are the bridge to Symbol Packs. Selling is how the loop continues after A–Z coverage is healthy. It is not how you “clean” a board that is still half empty.
Before you tap sell:
- Tick the letter on the Alphabet Checklist.
- Confirm a copy is already mounted.
- Confirm you are not in the middle of spelling Word of the Day.
- Sell one duplicate, check diamond gain, then continue.
If auto-sell scripts are involved, read How to Use Scripts Safely first. Wrong filters after a weekly patch will vendor keepers faster than you can undo.
Early game (lots of empty slots)
Priority: mount first copies of everything. Sell almost nothing except obvious triples of letters you already placed. Cheap Common packs still matter — see Letter Packs and early-game ranking. Diamonds can wait until the board is printing enough money to buy Luck and Pack Speed without starving placement.
Mid game (most of A–Z, a few holes)
Keep last copies of missing or rare holes. Sell duplicates of letters you already mounted, especially Commons that clog inventory and hide new pulls. Spend diamonds only when Symbol packs are actually unlocked — do not hoard diamonds forever, and do not dump them if you still lack basic Luck. Upgrade Priority decides whether the next click is shop or sell.
Late game (alphabet nearly done)
Duplicates become the main diamond engine. Keep one mounted set. Vendor the rest unless a weekly event or Word of the Day clearly wants extras. Mythic extras of completed letters are excellent fuel. Mythic extras of your last two missing glyphs are not fuel yet — open more targeted packs instead of selling the only spare you might need if a patch changes placement rules.
Word of the Day exception
Daily words can require specific letters. If today’s word needs a Q you only own once, that Q is not a sell. Check the Word Helper before a bulk vendor session. Codes that grant Mythic Packs (Codes Hub) can restock a letter you almost sold; still do not sell first and hope a code saves you.
Inventory UX traps
- Selling from a filtered list that hides the mounted flag.
- Confirming a bulk sell after AFK when you forgot what was selected.
- Treating “Uncommon” as worthless while it is still your only copy of that glyph.
- Cleaning inventory during a pack-open animation so you click the wrong stack.
Slow down. The board does not pay you for a tidy backpack.

Keep workers. Sell fuel. That is the entire diamond economy Cosmic Collection built on top of the alphabet wall. Play the official experience here: Collect The Alphabet on Roblox.
When a weekly event changes sell bonuses, re-read Weekly Events and Updates before you vendor a stack you used to keep. Rules above assume the live incremental loop: packs → board → upgrades → duplicates → diamonds → Symbol packs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When should I sell letters in Collect The Alphabet?
Only true duplicates after a copy is mounted and you do not need the extra for Word of the Day.
Should I sell Mythic letters?
Sell Mythic duplicates of letters you already completed. Never sell the last copy of a glyph you still need.
Why do I need diamonds?
Diamonds unlock Symbol packs after the Common-to-Mythic letter track. Selling spares is the intended bridge.
Can I sell my mounted letter?
Not if it is your only worker on that slot. Removing it cuts money/sec. Sell inventory extras instead.
Is auto-sell safe?
Only with filters you understand. After patches, test manually first. See How to Use Scripts Safely.
